The announcement of the results
from the European Space Agency’s Planck satellite has lots of people talking
about the "baby picture" of the Universe.

Universe Baby Picture, acrylic on canvas over
oval panel, 36" x
72", 2002 I made this painting based on data from the earlier
WMAP satellite. I thought the color choice could be tweaked a bit, to
suggest the colors of the blankets that newborns are swaddled with in
hospitals.
